Welcome to PilotExpo.co.nz
New Zealand's only general aviation-focused exhibition - PilotExpo - is cleared for take off in 2010.
PilotExpo 2010, to be held for two days from March 12 at Ardmore Aerodrome in Auckland, offers established and aspiring pilots, aircraft owners and operators the time and space to chat with businesses and organisations which supply the country's general aviation products and services.
This is not an event for people who throng to airshows for daring aerobatics and flypasts. Instead, PilotExpo is aimed at you - New Zealand's private flyers and owners as well as private, government or aviation companies. And it has the entire aviation spectrum covered - from fixed wing microlights to personal light jets.
PilotExpo was launched in 2007 with a tried and tested formula popular with aviation events around the globe. That formula (giving buyers, sellers and suppliers a platform to meet as well as touch and discuss products they may have only read about) has also proven successful in New Zealand.
In fact, the inaugural event attracted such a healthy number of stands and a strong attendance that PilotExpo 2009 was moved into a hangar to give exhibitors more room, and from where they set up displays that easily rivaled those at similar events around the globe. The expo's seminars, held at the Auckland Aero Club, and a Friday BBQ also proved a big hit with attendees.
This initial strong support has also prompted the organisers to bump up the once biennial show to an annual event from next year.
PilotExpo 2010 will build on the success of its first shows with many exciting additions and changes already under way. The event has also been timed to coincide with the Auckland Boat Show in a bid to make the City of Sails a real focal point for 'big boys' toys' that weekend.
The organisers are thankful to the loyal exhibitors and speakers who committed to the early shows and who will again in 2010 in spite of today's economically challenging times. And they ask that you too fly the flag for general aviation by clearing your weekend for what is shaping up to be the industry's annual top get together.

See you in 2010!
